I qualified as a Yoga Teacher in 1992 training with Paul Harvey on his Viniyoga Practitioner course. I continued studying with Paul for a further 9 years, as an individual student, doing retreats and study days.
A part of this training process was to spend some time in India studying at the Krishnamacarya Yoga Mandiram and I was fortunate enough to be part of a group studying with TKV Desikachar on several occasions.
I have taught in many varied situations including Schools(students and staff), special needs residential care, businesses, the NHS, and for 12 years I taught yoga and meditation in prison, something which I found both challenging and rewarding. As a result of working in prisons I completed a Diploma in Counselling from 2001- 2003.
In 1995 I met Hart deFouw for an Indian astrology reading and was so intruigued by the experience that it was instrumental in starting me on a course of study in Jyotish (astrology) and palmistry with Hart in the UK and latterly in America.
In my own yoga teaching and practice I am increasingly influenced by the work of F.M Alexander and have now qualified as an Alexander Technique Teacher after completing a four year teacher training course. I am extremely interested in how we can learn to move more freely and with less effort not just when doing yoga but also in our everyday activities.
At present I live in Herefordshire with my wife, Eve, an artist, and three children.
